Mr. Tufte was born in 1955. Graduated from Williamsville South High School. Played ice hockey for the Town of Amherst travel program. Holds a BS,Ed. in Industrial Arts Education and an MS,Ed. in Technology Education from the State University of New York College at Buffalo.

 

Family: Married with three daughters. One brother, married w/children living in Utah, mother resides in Florida.

Employment in education in various positions, in grades K-12 and locations: (Cheektowaga Central, Cleve Hill, Buffalo, Erie 1 BOCES, Clarence, Sweet Home, Akron, Williamsville, Gowanda and Eden) during the last four decades with 17 years in the private sector, including work as a commercial photographer in high demand. Ultimately, achieving the position of company vice president before returning to teaching. 

 

Additional Work Experiences: Employment in the building trades, including work in residential/commercial electrical, plumbing and HVAC

 

Mr. Tufte's parents owned a summer home in the Chautaugua Institution for many years, where he spent time boating and fishing. They sold the home and purchased property in Florida. Mr. T. and family currently frequent Emerald Isle at the southern end of the Outer Banks of North Carolina for vacations.

 

Working on cars has been a hobby since the teenage years, who knows how many thousands of dollars have been saved.
