Academic Intervention Service
English/Language Arts and Social Studies
Academic Intervention Service is a service mandated by the New York State Education Department to provide supplemental instruction to the general curriculum to assist students in meeting the New York State learning standards. AIS is intended to assist students who are at risk of not achieving NYS standards in English, Social Studies, Math and Science.
The AIS program provided by Mrs. Daniels services mostly juniors and seniors who are at risk of not meeting graduation requirements due to failing assessments scores on the English/Language Arts, Global Studies II and United States History exams. The program is extended to include students in danger of failing courses needed for graduation in those subjects, as well.
Students may also self enroll for additional help. Parents and teachers may also request student placement in AIS.
