Acceptable Use Policy
The Board of Education adopted a revised Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) for Computers/Technology and Internet Access on September 13, 2005. Like the original policy, the revised policy requires all users to abide by the terms and conditions of the AUP. The major difference is one of procedure. Students and parents no longer have to sign the AUP form(s) to indicate that they have read and agree to abide by the AUP. Effective immediately, if the parent/guardian objects to his/her child’s use of computers/technology, including the Internet, the parent/guardian must provide written notification of his/her objection to the principal. Unless such written notification is received by the principal, the child/children will automatically be given Internet and computer access.

Please call the principal if you have questions or require additional information.

Grade Point Average

For our students in grades 9-12 we will be changing the way our grade point averages are computed. The reason for this change has been dictated by colleges and universities. It has been brought to our attention, as well as other schools in Western New York, that our grade weighing system is outdated and the colleges and universities ignore them. The fact is that our grade weighing system has been simply giving students a false picture of what schools are looking at. Our seniors are too far in the process and it would be unfair to class rankings to change the grade weighting system. However, for our other students it is the appropriate time. For students in grades 9-12 all courses will be rated equally except for honors and courses that offer college credit. If you have questions regarding this change, please call your child’s counselor
